Entertaiment can be defined as any consumer activity that involves the imagination, requires an audience, is understood objectively, provides communication between text and audience from external stimulus, offers pleasure, and is consumed in a passive form. It can be found in all mediums and on a vast scale, from an individual choosing private entertainment from the now enormous selection of pre-recorded products; to banquets for two; to performances for thousands; and everything in between.
Many forms of Entertainment hit on points the human mind was evolved to deeply respond to, like backstabbing, murder and other social themes. It also hits on the parts of our brain that realease seratonin, dopamine and other chemicals.
