In its broadest sense, entertainment is anything that holds our attention or delight, whether a personal choice such as the music we listen to; an event, such as a party; a spectacle, such as a play or sports game. It can take on a serious tone as in the case of ceremonies, religious festivals and satire, and yet it may also be lighthearted or provide a means of achieving insight or intellectual growth. Entertaiment is one of our most familiar forms of art, yet it has evolved into a form with almost unlimited possibilities for creative remix across different media.
