Entertaiment
Entertaining is a flexible concept, capable of adaptation to fit any scale from an individual choosing private entertainments from a wide variety of pre-recorded products; to the banquet or feast adapted for two or for any number of people; to events intended to entertain large audiences. Although often associated with amusement, many entertainments may serve a more serious purpose, such as ceremonial occasions, religious festivals or even satire. The word derives from the medieval Latin intertenere, formed from the prefix inter meaning “inside” and the suffix tenere, from the Indo-European root for stretching or extending.
